On February 19, Book Donation Day, Newmag will hold a Winter Book Festival for the first time. The festival will take place at the Congress Hotel, entrance is free. It will start at 11:00 and will last for more than 10 hours.
The Newmag team has made a super interesting program. You can spend a whole day with Newmag. Various events are waiting for you such as book presentations, song and video premieres, panel discussions, meetings with writers, and a book raffle. And all these events will take place under one roof, side by side, so that book lovers have the opportunity to participate in their favorite event.
We will present 7 new books during the festival. Finally, Narine Abgaryan's "Manyunya" trilogy will present the second book, as well as the author's other work, "Drsek".
Several new writers and various genres will be added to the book list of our book lovers. The publishing house will present the book named "People and Machines: the history of the creation of the first Armenian computers " by Alexei Pomigalov, Alexander Andre, Ilya Korobov.
We have new Armenian authors with whom visitors can get acquainted and share thoughts during the discussion time. One of them is political scientist Suren Sargsyan, whose book named "Armenia and Bush personally: declassified details of Armenian-American contacts” will also be presented on February 19.
Together with the Hasratyan-Minasyan Foundation we will present a tangible archeological and historical work by Avetis Grigoryan and Arsen Bobokhyan named "Operation Zod: How Armenia kept the Sotk line in 1919”.
Dmitry Trenin's "New Balance of Powers. What kind of foreign policy will Russia adopt?” is dedicated to Russians foreign policy.
And finally, a thriller on the theme of Armenian wines. Our new author is American-Armenian Vahan Zanoyan. His novel "The Dry Mystery" tells about the adventures of modern-day diaspora Armenian winemakers in Armenia and Russia.
In addition to all book presentations, panel discussions with the participation of writers are planned.
In 2021, Newmag published two volumes of Margaret Mitchell's "Gone with the Wind". The Armenian edition aroused great interest among the readers and the first edition was consumed within days. There will be a panel discussion on the uniqueness of this work and the mysterious image of the writer.
Last year, Newmag presented songs and videos alongside Charles Aznavour's books. The presentation of the Armenian version of Aznavour's song "Who" will take place during the festival. The new Armenian version of the song was performed by Sofi Mkheyan.
