Cultural Highlights of Newmag Winter Fest 2025
01/29/2025

Without straying from its new festival concept, Newmag Publishing House has expanded this year’s event into both a book and art festival. Returning for the second time in its new format, Newmag Winter Fest 2025 blends literature, music, and visual arts, offering a full-day program of book presentations, musical performances, and a grand gala concert.
The festival will open with a performance by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, marking the third time the orchestra has set the classical tone for Newmag events. In previous festivals, they enchanted audiences with soundtracks from beloved cartoons at Back to School 2024 and Aznavour’s melodies at Francofest.
As with past festivals, Newmag continues to highlight the voices of Artsakh authors and artists. The "Voices of Artsakh" ensemble will take the stage, bringing the unique musical spirit of Artsakh. Founded in 2003, this group has nurtured talents like Vladimir Arzumanyan, Armenia’s first Junior Eurovision winner, and Misha, a participant in The Voice Russia and Junior Eurovision.
Erna Mir, another member, was among the winners of New Wave 2017. Their performances are deeply patriotic, infused with national identity and the rich musical traditions of Artsakh.
Adding to the festival’s musical lineup, Anahit Hakobyan, the winner of New Wave 2024, will perform her most beloved songs. The singer will take the stage just before heading to the Eurovision 2025 pre-selection round later that evening.
The festival’s gala concert will be headlined by Gor Sujyan, who also participated in last year’s Newmag Winter Fest 2024, performing pieces by Avet Barseghyan.
The event will also feature a poetic performance, following the presentation of Avet Barseghyan’s debut book, “Hayelis”. His poetry will come to life through readings by Nazeni Hovhannisyan, Hrachuhi Utmazyan, and Varsham Gevorgyan.
On February 16, Dvin Music Hall will transform into a hub of contemporary art and culture, featuring exhibitions, interactive pavilions, and showcases from Newmag’s partners. The National Library has prepared an exclusive art installation for the festival, along with a special literary surprise for book lovers at its pavilion.
With a fusion of literature, music, poetry, and visual arts, Newmag Winter Fest 2025 promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Armenian culture.
