Annabel Steadman: "Skandar and the Unicorn Thief"

Skandar Smith has harbored a lifelong fantasy of fleeing the Continent for a clandestine Island, where mythical unicorns roam freely. His preparations for the annual Hatchery exam, which selects a few 13-year-old Mainlanders to train as unicorn riders have consumed years of his life. However, on the fateful day of Skandar's examination, disaster strikes, shattering his dreams... until an enigmatic visitor appears at his doorstep in the dead of night, delivering a dire message: "The island is under threat, and Skandar must heed the call." Thus begins Skandar's odyssey into a realm of celestial clashes, perilous encounters with untamed unicorns, and whispers of an unseen adversary amassing a legion of these majestic creatures. As he grows closer to his newfound companions and the tight-knit community of riders, Skandar finds it increasingly challenging to conceal his own secrets, particularly when he uncovers the looming specter of peril that threatens their very existence.

Kaisa Happonen, Anne Vasco: "Mru Mru and Berry"

About the "Yeraz" series

A year ago, Newmag Publishing House and "Yeraz Projects" of the "Somnium" group of companies jointly initiated the "Yeraz" children's series. Thanks to the cooperation, "Yeraz" presents the books of Armenian and foreign children's authors. It brought a new culture to children's literature. Each age group book will have an appropriate font, font size, classification, and illustration. This is a new culture in the children's publishing industry of Armenia. The "Yeraz" series has its symbol, the "Flying Unicorn", which is known to children as a horse with one horn on its forehead. That mythical animal symbolizes sanity and mental purity.

The Program of the event

The books of the "Yeraz" series have four classifications: AYB, BEN, GIM, DA, respectively intended for age groups 0 to 6, 6 to 9, 10 to 12, 12 and above. Classifications will be placed on the books and allow parents and children to easily select books according to age. The author's font called "Hekiat" was developed for children's books. In addition to books, the series will also present stationery with characters from the "Yeraz" books. The "Yeraz" series already has six books, which are available both in bookstores and on the website yeraz.newmag.am.

The "Book of Yeraz: New Heroes" will take place on May 18, at 5 pm in Yeraz Park. There will also be an entertainment program. As well as the heroes of the day, hospitality and surprises are waiting for them. The books of the children's series will be sold at a discount of up to 40%. The students of MIHRAN ARPI STUDIO will give performances. Entrance is free.
