A beloved tradition returns. On May 3, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Newmag and Yeraz Projects invite children, parents, and book lovers to the 5th “Yeraz” Children’s Festival, taking place in the indoor hall of Yeraz Park. Admission is free, books will be available at special discounts, and, as always, guests can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

At the heart of the festival are new books. The “Yeraz” series, now counting more than 20 titles, introduces 5 new publications for different ages and interests: from comics to novels, from detective stories to parenting guides.

This year’s special international guest is Rasa Bugavičute-Pēce, author of the acclaimed novel “The Boy Who Saw in the Dark”. She will meet Armenian readers, present her work, answer questions, and sign books.

Young readers will also meet a familiar favorite: Greg Heffley returns in Jeff Kinney’s “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw”. Greg sets out to become a better person, while his father has his own plans to toughen him up. Avoiding “manly” challenges, Greg finds himself in hilarious dilemmas: change, escape, or military school?

The festival will also feature the presentation of the timeless classic “Heart” by Edmondo De Amicis now published in Armenian in a new, complete edition. A story about friendship, family, love, and growing up, it reminds us that life’s most important lessons happen beyond textbooks.

For younger readers, the festival brings the playful French comic “Brioche & Tartine - Toutou et n'importe quoi” by Violette Vaïsse, a humorous story about friendship, curiosity, and the joy of asking even the most absurd questions.

Another highlight is the first book in Anna Starobinets’s popular series: “Beastly Detective: The Wolf’s Lair” a witty and adventurous animal detective story for readers aged 6-12.

As every year, the “Yeraz” series also includes a book for parents. This time, Newmag presents Noelle Janis-Norton’s guide “Calmer, Easier, Happier Parenting”, offering practical strategies for raising children aged 3–13 (and beyond).

The festival program includes interactive games, discussions, music, book presentations, and plenty of surprises.

The famous saying “Like attracts like” perfectly describes Brioche and Tartine. They have the same sense of humor and the same innate “grace” for doing stupid things. The two dogs discuss “serious” topics, for example, do goats have teeth? Then they argue fiercely and put common sense to the test. At first glance, Tartine seems more intelligent than Brioche. The “hero” of his jokes and funny games is his friend. A colorful and funny comic for young readers.
