Newmag presents the biography of the most charismatic French football player: “Zidane’s Two Lives” (trailer in Armenian)

Pele mentioned that Zidane is a great master. 15 years ago Zidane became the hero of the World Cup final, after head-butting Marco Materazzi. A year after this incident, Materazzi wrote a book “What I really told Zidane?”. In this book he presented 250 options of what he potentially said. In Zidane’s biography Patrick Fort and Jean Philippe wrote about the real reasons behind this scandal. Newmag translated and published this book in Armenian. 

But his football career was far from over. After a spell coaching in Spain, he was appointed manager of Real Madrid in 2015 and immediately demonstrated that his skill as a manager matched his talent on the pitch, leading the team to successive Champions League victories and establishing him as one of the new managerial greats. 

Zinedine Zidane’s football career is the stuff of legend. A World Cup-winner with France, he became the world's most expensive player in 2001 when he moved from Juventus to Real Madrid for £46million, where his exceptional talent earned him a reputation as one of the greatest players of all-time. 

The most charismatic genius will soon turn 50.  He was recognized as the best manager in the history of the Champions League. Zidane is the youngest one in the list of top ten managers, but has already won 3 Champions League cups. His goals have been recognized as the best goals of all time in various tournaments.

Zidane changed perceptions about football. Zidane was born and raised in the La Castellane neighborhood of Marseille. Football has become an opportunity for Zidane to overcome poverty. Zizou transformed into Zinedine Zidane.  

There is an interesting fact in the biography of this legendary football player. His parents are cousins. Zidane’s full name is Zinedine Yazid Zidane. He has Arab roots. Zidane’s parents are immigrants from Algeria. His father was a constructor; mother was a housewife. 

Zidane has 3 brothers and one sister. Zizou is the youngest child in the family. The family was so poor that the boys couldn’t afford to attend football classes, instead, they played in their backyards. “I have close ties with the Arab world. I am proud to by French, but I am also very proud of my roots and heritage.”
