Andranik Israelyan
Andranik Israelyan (born 1987) is a diplomat, lecturer in international relations, and marathon runner. He has extensive experience in public service, having held responsible positions in the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Justice of the Republic of Armenia. Alongside his state and diplomatic work, Israelyan has taught at Yerevan State University, the Armenian-Russian Slavonic University, and the Academy of Public Administration, and has given guest lectures at Harvard and the University of Chicago. A graduate of Oxford University with a PhD in Historical Sciences, he is fluent in Armenian, Russian, English, and Turkish. His monograph “The Peculiarities of Turkey’s Foreign Policy in the Decade of the Justice and Development Party’s Rule (2002–2012)” is the first work on this topic in Armenia. A passionate marathon runner, Israelyan has completed two of the world’s seven major marathons - the Berlin and Chicago Marathons.
