ASHKHEN BAKHCHINYAN
Ashkhen Bakhchinyan (Sahakyan) was born in 1973 in Yerevan. Since 1998 Ashkhen Bakhchinyan works as a freelance translator and interpreter from Swedish and English. She has published articles and short stories translated from Swedish, English and Russian into Armenian. She has got a diploma for the best translation in “Garun” literary magazine (for translating Swedish poetry published in “Garun,” 2000, no 5). She has translated following books from Swedish and English in Armenian:“Svensk mentaliet” by Åke Daun (Yerevan, “Hayastan”, 2012), “Pippi Långstrump” by Astrid Lindgren (Yerevan, “Zangak-97”, 2013), “Hundraåringen som klev ut genom fönstret och försvann” by Jonas Jonasson (Yerevan, “Zangak-97”, 2014, co-translator: Artsvi Bakhchinyan), “Allt om Karlson på taket” by Astrid Lindgren (Yerevan, “Antares,” 2015), “Emil i Lönneberga” by Astrid Lindgren (Yerevan, “Zangak-97”, 2015) “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill (Yerevan, “Zangak-97,” 2016: co-translator: Artsvi Bakhchinyan), “Småtrollen och den stora översvämningen” and “Kometen kommer” by Tove Jansson (Yerevan, “Zangak” 2021).
