Karlen Dallakyan

Karlen Dallakyan ( 1929-2008) is a political, public figure, and publicist. He graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Yerevan State University. He worked in the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Armenia, was the Chairman of the Council of Armenian Church Affairs under the Council of Ministers of the Armenian SSR, and then the Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Armenia. In 1976, he was elected Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Armenia, a deputy of the Supreme Council, and Chairman of the Diaspora Committee. He is the author of the study “From the History of the Lebanese Armenian Democratic Press,” the monographs “The Legendary Hero: Kamon,” “Alexander Myasnikyan,” the biography “Hushapatum,” the two-volume “History of the Ramkavar Liberal Party,” and a number of other valuable works. He has translated works by a number of Russian and English writers. Karlen Dallakyan was a member of the board of the Tekeyan Cultural Union of Armenia for many years.
