Datse Vegate
Datse Vigante (born 1970) is a Latvian writer, a prominent contemporary Latvian author. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Latvian State University, worked in the legal field for many years, and then devoted himself entirely to literature. Vigante entered the literary world in 2015. His first collection of short stories "Ice Oranges" (Ledus āpārsāns) was nominated for the Latvian Literary Prize as the best debut. His short stories have been translated into English, Lithuanian, Chinese, Estonian, and German. He currently leads the creative master classes in prose at the Literary Academy. He is a member of the Latvian Writers' Union.
