Megan McDonald
Megan McDonald (born 1959) is an American children's author. She grew up in a large family where storytelling and jokes were a part of everyday life. With the support of her mother, she began writing her own stories. Megan was also an avid reader from childhood. In high school, she was a bookshelf girl at the public library. She studied at Oberlin College in Ohio, where she received a bachelor's degree in English and literature with a specialization in children's literature. After graduating, she worked in a bookstore, was a museum guide and storyteller. Then she received a master's degree in library science from the University of Pittsburgh, worked as a librarian, and wrote books for children in her free time. In 1999, the first book in the Judy Moody series was published, which became her most famous work. Megan's bold, mischievous and unpredictable heroine is loved by millions of readers around the world. The Judy Moody series has been translated into 18 languages and has sold over 7 million copies.
