Newmag publishing house republished Narine Abgaryan’s "Three Apples Fell from the Sky" novel. The book was translated into 15 languages. The Armenian publication of the book is re-edited, proofread, and has a new cover. This is the first project of the Armenian-Russian book series in the scope of a partnership between Newmag and Oracle publishing houses. The book presentation was held on Armenia TV’s “Good Morning” program.

At the speed of light, Narine Abgaryan has entered into Russian literary framework with her novel “Manyunya”. She considers herself a professional reader and a blogger, who has been noticed by publishers. Nowadays, Narine is one of the most popular Russian-Armenian authors.

Tender, strong, resilient, and full of love: This is how the most famous literary critics describe the book. The "Three Apples Fell from the Sky" is about the imaginary Maran village. Hayarpi Khachatryan, the editor of the book, believes that the novel sums up the history of Western and Eastern Armenia, and Artsakh in it.  “This is a fairytale, but mature readers will find many hidden layers in it.”

Both the editor and the translator of the book claim that the international success of this strictly Armenian novel has a vivid explanation. Translator Naira Khachatryan assures that the book is about the most realistic love. “From top to bottom this book is about love. It is about various forms of love. The novel represents love in the scope of pain, loss, patience, and suffering.”

Narine writes about Armenian reality in Russian, but even in a foreign language, her Tavush dialect is noticed. The first and loyal readers of her books are her parents. In their house at Berd, they have all the books of the great novelist in all the languages. The author of the book illustrations is Narine’s sister - Sona Abgaryan. She is the only person who could visualize the story so vividly.  “I always discuss the work with Narine. She likes everything that I do, there is no criticism from her side. It is good to hear, but on the other hand, I don’t know if it is good or bad.”

Newmag Publishing House republished Narine Abgaryan’s "Three Apples Fell from the Sky" novel in partnership with Oracle Publishing House. Both Publishing houses signed an agreement according to which Oracle and Newmag agreed to create the "Oracle" Armenian-Russian book series. Ruben Iskhanyan, the manager of the "Oracle" Armenian-Russian book series says that soon there will be more books in the scope of this cooperation.

“There should be no difference between Armenian-speaking Armenian and Russian-speaking Armenian. Armenian is always an Armenian and Narine is the proof of these words. She writes in Russian, but her books are about Armenians.”

The book was republished with the support of media manager Artur Janibekyan. He has read the Russian version of the book and decided to republish it through the “Renaissance” cultural and intellectual foundation. The communications manager of the foundation believes that the novel can represent Armenia abroad. “It is of utmost importance for our foundation to present Armenian culture abroad. Moreover, we are eager to present the creations of Armenians living abroad here in Armenia.”

Bestselling author Narine Abgaryan’s award-winning "Three Apples Fell from the Sky" has been portrayed by literary critics as a balm for the soul, a story about love and endurance.

Description

In an isolated village high in the Armenian mountains, a close-knit community bickers, gossips and laughs. Their only connection to the outside world is an ancient telegraph wire and a perilous mountain road that even goats struggle to navigate. As they go about their daily lives – harvesting crops, making baklava, tidying houses – the villagers sustain one another through good times and bad. But sometimes all it takes is a spark of romance to turn life on its head, and a plot to bring two of Maran's most stubbornly single residents together soon gives the village something new to gossip about...

Three Apples Fell from the Sky is an enchanting fable that brilliantly captures the idiosyncrasy of a small community. Sparkling with sumptuous imagery and warm humor, this is a vibrant tale of resilience, bravery and the miracle of everyday friendship.
