The author of "The Power of Habit" and "Smarter Faster Better" presents a new work on effective communication: Supercommunicators. The publication of the book was initiated by the Acba Business Club, with Acba Bank as the main partner.
In his new book, Supercommunicators, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Charles Duhigg explores a simple yet important question: why is it easy to talk to some people, while with others, it feels like we are constantly speaking different languages?
One of the most interesting ideas presented by Duhigg is that a conversation is not always what it seems at first glance. Sometimes we are trying to solve a problem. Sometimes we simply want to share our feelings. And sometimes the real topic of conversation is our relationship—who feels what, what each expects from the other, and what place we hold in each other's lives.
These three situations require entirely different approaches. Imagine someone sharing that they had a tough day at work. If we immediately start offering advice when they simply wanted to be heard, we might push them away rather than draw closer. But if we can understand whether advice or simple presence is needed at that moment, the conversation will take a completely different turn.
A good conversationalist doesn't always talk a lot; communication is not just the art of speaking. It is also the art of listening. Duhigg draws attention to the questions we ask our conversational partners. Surface-level questions can keep a conversation going, but deep questions often open the door to a person's thinking, feelings, and values.
Communication is also a habit. We all have our communication habits. Some people interrupt, some give immediate advice, some struggle to talk about feelings, and others focus so much on finding the right answer that they forget to listen.
Duhigg demonstrates that these behaviors are not unchangeable. They can be noticed, re-evaluated, and changed. In other words, communicating well is not a rare personality trait, but a skill that can be developed.
So why is this book particularly important today? We live in an unprecedented flow of information. We write, we call, we send voice messages, we comment, and we react. But communicating a lot still does not mean communicating well.
In the end, the purpose of communication is not merely to transfer information. It is about building a connection. Supercommunicators are people after talking with whom we feel more understood. They are able to notice not only what is said, but also the subtext of the conversation, choose the right question, listen, and understand what is truly needed at that given moment.
And perhaps the most important thought here is this: we can all learn to speak better, listen better, and understand each other better. The book Supercommunicators is about that very journey, how to make ordinary conversations deeper, relationships stronger, and the distance between people smaller.

Description
Communicating effectively requires a superhuman effort. Masters of interpersonal communication know that every conversation actually consists of three parallel dialogues: the practical ("What is really happening?"), the emotional ("How do we feel?"), and the social ("Who are we?").
Our life experiences, values, and emotions—as well as how we perceive ourselves and others—influence every conversation we have. Through this book, you will discover the specific skills and abilities that enable certain people to express their thoughts clearly and understand others with equal clarity.
