Newmag has published the Armenian edition of Morgan Housel’s groundbreaking book “The Psychology of Money”, a global bestseller that has sold over 10 million copies and been translated into dozens of languages. The book explores a paradox that puzzles many: why do highly educated and financially literate individuals sometimes fail at managing money, while others with modest incomes achieve financial independence?
American writer and investor Morgan Housel offers compelling answers in this widely acclaimed book. A partner at The Collaborative Fund and a former columnist for The Motley Fool and The Wall Street Journal, Housel is known for his insightful, accessible writing. He is a two-time winner of the Best Business Article award from the American Business Editors and Writers Association and a recipient of The New York Times’ Sydney Award for exceptional essays on social, cultural, or political themes.
“The Psychology of Money” argues that financial success is not solely a product of knowledge or intelligence, it is deeply rooted in behavior, decision-making, personal experiences, and even family background. The book shows that wealth is more about mindset and habits than about advanced financial skills or high income.
Housel delves into why people with strong financial knowledge often make poor money choices. He explores how psychological attitudes, emotional responses, and even luck—such as when and where you’re born—can shape financial outcomes. The book is rich in practical advice, offering guidance on how to make sound, sustainable decisions, avoid common financial pitfalls, and build long-term stability regardless of income level or profession.
One of the book’s most powerful takeaways is that happiness is the ability to be content with what you have, without chasing unrealistic expectations.
The Armenian edition is published with the support of general partner Apricot Capital. The book launch will take place on May 28 at 14:00 at the Congress Hotel, followed by a panel discussion featuring:
- Anush Sedrakyan, translator of the book
- Ara Chalabyan, President of the Institute of Internal Auditors-Armenia
- Armenuhi Hovakimyan, Deputy Secretary General of the Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS)
- Vachik Gevorgyan, Executive Director of Apricot Capital
The discussion will be moderated by David Mejlumyan. On the day of the event, the book will be available at a special discounted price.

Description
Doing well with money isn’t necessarily about what you know. It’s about how you behave. And behavior is hard to teach, even to really smart people.
Money―investing, personal finance, and business decisions―is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together.
In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the different ways people think about money and teaches you how to make better sense of one of life’s most important topics.
