Paolo Sorrentino, a celebrated and controversial contemporary Italian director, screenwriter, and writer, was born in Naples. In 2013, Sorrentino's film "The Great Beauty" received top honors in the world of cinema, including the "Oscar," "Golden Globe," and BAFTA awards. His repertoire also includes acclaimed films such as "Youth," "The Hand of God," and the television series "The Young Pope," along with numerous accolades from the Cannes and Venice Film Festivals.

With his distinctive cinematic style characterized by non-naturalistic narratives, dynamic visuals, and sharp satire, Sorrentino has left an indelible mark on the world of cinema. These traits are equally evident in his literary works, which often evoke a sense of ambiguity, prompting readers to delve deeper to grasp the full complexity of the narrative.

The novel "Everybody’s Right" follows the journey of Tony Pagoda, a beloved pop star of 1980s Italy, known for his mesmerizing voice and undeniable charm. Faced with the trappings of fame—money, drugs, and women—Tony retreats to Brazil, seeking solace in a simpler life. However, after an 18-year exile in the Amazon, Tony is lured back to Italy with the promise of riches, forcing him to confront his past and navigate the temptations of his old lifestyle.

Nominated for Italy's prestigious literary prize, the Strega Award, "Everybody’s Right" offers a poignant exploration of contemporary Italy and the human condition. According to La Repubblica magazine, Sorrentino masterfully captures Italy's descent into chaos, portraying a society plagued by corruption, deception, and tragic folly.

On April 18, the book will be available for purchase during the presentation. Entrance is free.
