Newmag presents "Traditional Dining Table" in two additional languages: Russian and English
07/16/2024
Kristine Grigoryan's "Traditional Dining Table," which explores the aromas, flavors, and memories of Gavar, has been published in Russian and English. The books in all three languages are now available in bookstores and newmag.am.
This book introduces readers to the history of Armenian cuisine and family
traditions through the lens of a provincial family. From provincial baklava to
aromatic matnakash, each recipe in the book embodies the warmth of family and
the aromas of grandmother's kitchen.
The significance of "Traditional Dining Table"
lies in the vivid childhood memories that precede each recipe, reflecting the
author's upbringing in Gavar. Through its pages, readers will experience
delightful flavors and discover Armenian hospitality and culinary traditions.
Published in three languages, Kristine Grigoryan's goal was to gather and
document recipes that reflect Armenian roots. "Gavar's betel nut, gata,
and sugar lokhum were not fixed anywhere as Armenian dishes, this is very
important so that other nations do not wonder what kind of food they are.
Especially since it is in three languages to spread around the world."
Illustrations and comprehensive information within the book provide a rich
portrayal of Gavar's cuisine.
