Big literary surprise. Freedom Broker Armenia will donate 1000 books to Lori libraries

A day before the festival, Freedom Broker Armenia joined the social initiative by announcing the donation of 1000 books to libraries in Lori.

The library named after Hovhannes Tumanyan in Alaverdi has been operating for 94 years. The library was constructed in the 1930s and its property dates back to the 1980s. The books had become old and worn. An emergency area is located on the first floor of the cultural center building.

Readers often repair faded books themselves, as they no longer expect new editions. "The collection mainly consists of books from the Soviet era, and sometimes readers themselves donate books to the library," says Anahit Ishkhanyan, the library's director.

As is tradition, newmag awards free books published during the year to the author of the best review at the summer book fest. This year, it was decided to enrich the book collection at the Hovhannes Tumanyan Library in Alaverdi during the book and art festival.

To the delight of the Publishing House, Freedom Broker Armenia also joined our initiative one day before the festival. Operating since 2008, the company has been in the Armenian market for over a year. Freedom Broker Armenia announced its donation of books to Lori's libraries at the newmag summer fest.

According to Eduard Safaryan, Deputy Director of Freedom Broker Armenia, the company emphasizes the role of education at its core:

"I want to extend special thanks to newmag for this initiative. We have been operating in the Armenian market for more than a year, and it is very important for us to contribute to the country and provide assistance in times of crisis. That's why we decided to participate in this initiative, so that children and young people in Lori can have access to reading materials. We also prioritize financial literacy, and we have taken steps toward its development, such as establishing our academy. These 1,000 books are just the beginning of our collaboration."

According to the company's decision, 500 books will be allocated to libraries in Alaverdi and Vanadzor. Artak Aleksanyan, the head of the Publishing House, stated:

"This was an unexpected event for us. Initially, we planned to donate 50 of our published books to the Alaverdi Library. However, Freedom Broker joined the initiative, and today we are pleased to announce that thanks to the company, newmag will distribute 1000 books to two libraries in the disaster zone — Vanadzor and Alaverdi libraries."

The initiative will be implemented by newmag and Freedom Broker Armenia in the coming weeks.
