The Arno Babajanyan Concert Hall hosted the Project Management Conference & Awards 2025, the most significant annual event in the field of project management in Armenia.
The conference brought together leading experts, representatives of the business community, government agencies, and international organizations, who shared their experience, innovative approaches, and practical tools in Yerevan, highlighting the crucial role of project management in the development of the modern world.

The event was organized by the Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s leading professional organization in the field. Founded in 1969, PMI today operates in more than 200 countries, uniting hundreds of chapters and millions of professionals. The institute sets international standards, offers globally recognized certifications, including PMP, publishes project management guidelines, and builds strong professional communities that foster continuous development.

Armenia’s achievements in project management have already gained international recognition. In November 2025, at the PMI Global Conference in the United States, PMI Armenia Chapter President Astghik Sahakyan received the PMI Chapter Leadership Impact Award, becoming the winner across the entire European region. This recognition is not only a personal achievement but also an important milestone for Armenia’s presence in the global project management community.

To take part in the Project Management Conference & Awards 2025, several high-ranking international guests arrived in Armenia, including PMI President and CEO Pierre Le Mans, AMS Founder and CEO Grace Najar, PMI Italy President Carmine Parajano, PMI Kazakhstan President Azamat Toymbetov, and PMI Georgia President Ilia Revia.

One of the key highlights of the event was a panel discussion featuring Astghik Sahakyan alongside the four PMI chapter presidents, during which they shared professional insights, practical experience, and recommendations.
Astghik Sahakyan is also the author of the book “Project Management”, the first Armenian-language work dedicated to the field. The book covers all core aspects of project management, with a particular focus on personal effectiveness and communication skills. It is designed for a broad audience, from beginners to experienced specialists and senior managers, serving as both a foundational guide and a source of new perspectives. The book was published by Newmag, which, together with the Matena International School of Leadership and Professional Development, served as the event’s content partner. The main sponsor of the event was Evoca Bank.

The awards ceremony aimed to recognize successfully implemented projects and outstanding project managers across various sectors. According to Astghik Sahakyan, applications were evaluated based on clear and transparent criteria, and an international jury reviewed more than fifty submissions.
The Project Management Awards were held in Armenia for the second consecutive year. In 2025, the following nominations were presented: Project Manager of the Year, Innovation, Sustainability, and Social Impact Project Manager.

- Project Manager of the Year was awarded to Doping Company for organizing Jennifer Lopez’s concert in Yerevan.
- The Innovation Project Manager award went to the Information Systems Agency of Armenia for its digital car buying and selling platform.
- The Sustainability award was presented to Environment Group for its solid household waste management project in the Kotayk and Gegharkunik regions.
- The Social Impact Project Manager award was given to Teach, Armenia for its “Generation” project.

The Public Sector Special Award was presented to the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the World Bank for the implementation of an artificial intelligence and machine learning system for the RA State Revenue Committee. The Evoca Bank Special Award was awarded to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Innobiz for their “Byur” platform.
Newmag Publishing House also received a Special Award for the Newmag Book Festival project.
The Project Management Conference & Awards 2025 once again demonstrated that project management in Armenia has evolved into a mature culture with strong international ties, high professional standards, and a tangible impact on the country’s development.
