Narine Abgaryan lives in Moscow, her parents live in Berd. They gathered in Yerevan to help Artsakh. Even the pandemic has failed to hinder this meeting. Narine Abgaryan mentions that it was almost impossible to stay in Moscow and follow the disturbing events remotely. “Yesterday I brought my parents from Berd to Yerevan with force. Finally, I have learned to sleep here. In Moscow, I woke up every 15 minutes, because our men were fighting in the frontline.”

Narine Abgaryan’s roots are from Tavush. She is familiar with war and its consequences quite well. She has even written a book about war, but promised herself that it will be the first and the last book about it. Now, it is difficult both physically and mentally to write another book about our existential battle, but the author does not exclude the chance. “We have no right to be silent about our wounds. Writing will heal us.”

There is a long queue of people who want to meet Narine, talk with her about war and peace, and of course, get the books with her signature. During the event, you can also meet with women from Artsakh, who currently live and work in Armenia. “We are baking zhingyalov hats in order to sell them. I have two kids and am pregnant with the third. I have to work in order to take care of them.”

Narine Abgaryan promised to have her continuous input in helping Artsakh and the people of Artsakh. Newmag publishing house will transform 30% of the proceeds to the companies, which take care of the refugees from Artsakh.

Description

In an isolated village high in the Armenian mountains, a close-knit community bickers, gossips and laughs. Their only connection to the outside world is an ancient telegraph wire and a perilous mountain road that even goats struggle to navigate. As they go about their daily lives – harvesting crops, making baklava, tidying houses – the villagers sustain one another through good times and bad. But sometimes all it takes is a spark of romance to turn life on its head, and a plot to bring two of Maran's most stubbornly single residents together soon gives the village something new to gossip about...

Three Apples Fell from the Sky is an enchanting fable that brilliantly captures the idiosyncrasy of a small community. Sparkling with sumptuous imagery and warm humor, this is a vibrant tale of resilience, bravery and the miracle of everyday friendship.
