Karen Harutyunyan

Karen Harutyunyan (born 1975) is an experienced media professional and is currently the Editor-in-Chief of CivilNet.am, one of Armenia’s leading independent media platforms. He was also the founding editor of Capital Business Daily (2007-2011). Karen Harutyunyan holds a PhD in history and has led major studies on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, including the books “The Reasons for Armenia’s Defeat in 2020,” “Storm in the Caucasus,” “Broken Shield” (2025), and “44. Defeat” (2024). Harutyunyan is also a regular commentator and essayist, writing on foreign policy, governance, and media.
