On October 12, at the 2nd French content festival, Newmag will present Amélie Nothomb's new novel, "The Enemy's Cosmetique".

Amélie Nothomb wrote this book in 2001. "The Enemy's Cosmetique" is an influential work about man and his self. This small but impactful book is written in simple yet literary language.

An airport, a delayed flight, a nervous passenger, and a frightening stranger—who is he? Everything will be revealed only at the end of the novel and will be shocking. Talking to strangers is unlikely to end well, especially if they are characters in Amélie Nothomb's novel.

The tedious chatter of a Dutchman with a strange name, Textor Texel, turns into hell in the truest sense of the word.

Amélie Nothomb, the divine baroness and gothic queen, stands out in the French literary world for her extraordinary novels and her unique character. She narrowly escaped death at the age of four, dreamed of becoming a prima ballerina in her youth, and became obsessed with Japanese culture while living in Japan, where her father was the Belgian consul.

Years later, she will confess: a failed Japanese woman, a prima ballerina, a martyr—these experiences made her a more or less successful French writer. She is one of the most famous contemporary writers in France.

"Words have the ability to destroy. One word can save you, another word can kill you. The day I realized this, I told myself that there is nitroglycerin in the tongue, and if I'm not careful, I can kill or save regardless of my will."

With wide-brimmed hats, gothic style, a white face, and red lipstick, this is how France's most Japanese writer appears on the covers of her own books.

"When writing, I always listen to my inner voice, which is metal rock. During insomnia, the sound comes to my head; then, in the morning, I put it on paper. The more I write, the more to my surprise, the plot automatically gets richer."

Taguhi Blbulyan translated the book from French to Armenian. The book presentation will take place on October 12 at 14:00 in Hall 1 of the Congress Hotel. Entrance is free, and the book will be sold at a discount during the festival.
