First Major Project of 2026: Newmag to Publish New European Novels in Partnership with EUPL

This initiative represents an important step by Newmag in bringing European literary voices to Armenian readers. The publishing house applied to the program announced by the EUPL consortium and secured funding for the strategic promotion of works by EUPL-nominated authors.

The cooperation with EUPL is designed to increase the visibility of authors recognized by the prize and making their works accessible in new linguistic and cultural contexts.

Under this program, Newmag will translate and publish three books by EUPL authors from different countries:

• Philippe Marczewski (Belgium) — Quand Cécile
• Beka Adamashvili (Georgia) — Everybody Dies in This Novel
• Lucie Faulerová  (Czech Republic) — Smrtholka

This carefully curated selection brings together diverse voices, themes, and styles of contemporary European literature. For Newmag, receiving this funding is a strong acknowledgment of international trust and support. It aligns perfectly with the publishing house’s strategy to introduce Armenian readers to the most significant works of contemporary European literature, foster cultural dialogue, and expand the scope of translated literature in Armenia.
