Very few of the composer's more than a thousand songs have been translated into Armenian. That’s the primary reason that Newmag publishing house decided to start a new project, which aims to present Aznavour’s songs in Armenian. The translator of the collection of short stories "My father, that giant" translated his work "Resté" into Armenian in the 1990s. Newmag publishing house in cooperation with Armenia TV and Amundi ACBA presented the Armenian version of the song to the Armenian audience.

French-Armenian singer and actress, Aznavour’s eldest daughter Seda Aznavour, immediately reacted to Newmag’s initiative. “I am delighted and excited that the memory about my father continues to spread through his art, especially in Armenia. Thank you and warm greetings.”

Seda Aznavour performed Sayat-Nova's "Ashkharhums" song with Aznavour in Armenian. She studied at the Armenian College in Paris, in music schools. She started her music career in the 1960s, moved to the United States, and performed in numerous concerts. In 1988 she released an album of traditional Armenian songs.

Newmag’s new initiative kicked off with the song “Reste”, but as the project continues, it will include various popular and less known songs of Aznavour. Seda Aznavour gladly learnt that before Aznavour’s 100th anniversary, Newmag promised to translate and publish not only his entire literary heritage, but also his songs.
