The year 2025 became a defining chapter in Newmag Publishing House’s story—rich with content, ideas, and landmark events. We published 45 new books, delivered multiple book and arts festivals, organized scientific conferences, hosted international authors, participated in regional book fairs, and laid the foundation for a new, growing reading community.

Winter Fest
The year began with Newmag Winter Fest, our 10th book and arts festival. The 12-hour program—held on the eve of Book Giving Day—brought together a concert show, panel discussions, an exhibition, and a poetry evening. The festival’s publishing highlight was the launch of four new books and one magazine by four Armenian authors.
Summer Fest
Newmag Summer Festran for two days and introduced a new concept for Armenia: BOOK, WINE, JAZZ. The festival featured ten new book launches for adults and children, plus one financial magazine. A key innovation was the wine-tasting program, where six Armenian wine companies presented their products and shared insights into Armenian wine culture and traditions.

Newmag published the first Goncourt Armenia laureate title, along with three additional French-language books.
Scientific conferences
Between festivals, Newmag organized two major scientific conferences. Together with the Gulbenkian Foundation, Newmag hosted the two-day forum “New Thought, New Translation.”
Day 1 combined the presentation of three psychology titles newly translated into Armenian with public discussions on overcoming post-traumatic stress, grief, andloss.
Day 2, under the theme “The World and Us,” marked the Armenian presentation of Edward Said’s seminal work “Orientalism”—a landmark publication introduced in Armenian for the first time in nearly half a century. The forum also featured the analytical manual “Broken Shield” bringing together the assessments of Armenian and international experts on the last Artsakh war and the period preceding it.
Throughout 2025, Newmag maintained an active presence across Armenia’s and the region’s leading cultural and innovation platforms. The publishing house participated in the Yerevan International Book Festival, presenting Jonathan Franzen’s contemporary American classic “Crossroads” and the magazine “Inknagir.” Newmag also appeared with dedicated book pavilions in Kapan and Gyumri, and took part in the Sevan Startup Summit and Career City Fest.

International authors and expert guests
In 2025, Newmag invited six international authors and speakers to Armenia for Armenian-edition launches and book tours in Yerevan and the regions. Highlights included:

The Salon offers Newmag titles at a permanent discount and will host Signature Club meetings and discussions, strengthening Newmag’s role as an everyday cultural destination, not only a publisher.
